The next couple posts will be about a mini trip we took to LA last week!

One of the highlights of the trip was scuba diving the channel islands! What a blast!

We slept on the boat the night before which was an adventure in and of itself. The boat wasn't a yacht (obviously) so the accommodations were a little cramped, but we were so exhausted from driving all day that we would have slept anywhere. Lance slept on the top bunk and I slept on the bottom.

The boat left the next morning at 7 am sharp. We woke up and had breakfast all ready for us! It was such a nice surprise, I had 10 granola bars in the event that there wasn't food. Once the boat started going I had a really hard time with seasickness. I felt awful and dumb for not buying dramamine the night before when we stopped at CVS.  Once we stopped for the first dive I felt fine for the rest of the day HALLELUJAH.

We rented all of our gear (except fins/snorkel/mask) which was super convenient. We did 3 dives all out in the Channel Islands. The sea life was SO beautiful. My favorite part was the kelp forests. Lance and I would sit at the bottom of the ocean and just look up at these 60 ft long kelps and fishes swimming around them. It was awesome. At first I was a little nervous to swim in the kelp (I didn't want to get stuck) but it was so soft and after a while we were just weaving in and out like kelp pros. We also had a otter come and play with some divers right ahead of us! We just plopped down and enjoyed the little show. We decided not to bring our underwater cameras with us and instead just enjoy the scenery and take it all in. And also focus on NOT dying (which is a big one for me).

Scariest part of the day was LOSING LANCE 50 FEET DOWN IN A KELP FOREST AND THE BOAT WAS NO WHERE IN SIGHT. Haha. We both decided which way to go, and I thought we were on the same page, but I looked around after 15 seconds and I couldn't see him! I was terrified!! Luckily we found each other within a couple minutes, but man. DO NOT lose your buddy. Or your husband. Very scary. And turns out the boat was literally 20 feet in front of us. So we were totally fine.

Anyways, here are some pics from our scuba adventure! Enjoy!

^^I couldn't believe how amazing the islands looked! And the water! and it's all in california!

^^Getting this wetsuit on/off was a real challenge

^^My favorite pic from the day. This is on the way back. After I took this I took a nice little nap.
