Life has been wonderful as of late. It's seriously weird to only have my research to really focus on. I'm used to having to balance multiple classes, studying and working. It's weird but also great! Lots and lots of free time.
Last weekend we went to SLC to see Video Games Live performed by the Utah Symphony! It happened to also be the same weekend as Salt Lake Comic Con, so there was tons of people watching to enjoy. The performance was really great. The symphony played themes from different video games and a screen behind them played a highlight reel of each game. It ALMOST made me want to be a gamer. Almost ;]
One of the funniest parts of the show was when the host said, "Some people think that video games cause violence..." and someone from the audience yelled, "Kill those people!" hahaha. I've never been a fan of videogames, and I think I got that from my mom; however, I've come to realize they aren't that bad! They're actually pretty cool.
The outside of the concert hall had a pretty view of the tabernacle and the temple.
My inner engineer was gawking at the amazing open spaces in the lobby. IMAGINE HOW MUCH STEEL IS AROUND US RIGHT NOW! AWESOME!
The guy sitting next to me was in a homemade storm trooper (is that what it is??) costume. sweet bro.
One of the coolest parts of the theater was that all of the tiers were slanted downward towards the stage.
The other day I tried making brioche rolls. They turned out pretty good! I used them to make french toast the next day and it was DELISH!
I had a fun time trying to braid and twist the dough into pretty shapes...it kinda worked.
