I feel like I haven’t posted in forever! Everything is going
well here in San Ignacio! Jez and I are still working on planning the reading
camp for the local elementary school. It’s going great! We also got a new wave
of volunteers that are stoked about the camp! I can’t wait!
Last week (?) I volunteered in a local old folks home. It
was so wonderful! I really love old people. To be honest it was a little bit
depressing. Some of the residents really don’t want to be there…but others love
it! Oh we played Bingo! It was so fun! Old people really love bingo.
Last Friday (or Thursday. Honestly the days blend together
We’re working on getting in contact with a Mennonite farmer
to make a planting schedule for the garden we built at Sacred Heart College.
This has proved to be a little bit difficult since Mennonites don’t believe in
phones…but that’s alright we’ll find a way!
I went kayaking last Saturday! SO FUN! I’ve never done it
before! Okay I will be honest with you. I was terrible at it. I shared a kayak
with my buddy Tay. We struggled. Big time. We were so slow that the instructor
had to attach our boat to his…embarrassing right? Haha. But that’s okay! I
definitely want to try it again.
This weekend we’re planning on going to Hopkins aka big time
beach town. It should be fun! I’m excited to get my tan on.
OH I found a new artist that I really like. Mindy Gledhill.
