Nashville Y'all!

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend the SWE (society of women engineers) annual conference in Nashville! I had never been to Nashville before so it was a real treat. It was amazing to see thousands of women, both professionals and collegiates (mostly collegiates), gather and learn! I was so inspired by women who have had successful careers and have managed to raise their families. It was an awesome and encouraging weekend.

The conference center had beautiful artwork everywhere, all inspired by the music city.

^^Random pic, but I finished this book on the trip. Highly recommend!

^^One of the main parts of the conference was a MASSIVE career fair. I had never seen anything like it. And holy swag. There was so much swag. And prizes. There was also prime rib and fancy cheese stations. At a career fair.

I picked a couple of companies I was interested in and luckily got an interview with one of them. The pic above is me chillin alone with my thoughts, listening to the live music across the street.

^^Our first night we headed to the famous waffle house. The waffles did not disappoint. Highly recommend.

^^Our last night we headed out on the town. It was a blast. Doesn't it look like a mini Las Vegas?

^^Live music pretty much every 15 ft.

^There were a ton of these party bikes. I don't see the appeal.

^^Dinner time! Had some AMAZING bbq at Jack's

^^There was a very long line, but it was worth it.

^^Chicken, Ribs and Brisket.

^^Had to stop in the boots store. They were having a 'buy one get two free' sale. I was tempted, but for real what am I going to do with 3 pairs of cowboy boots?

^^Found Elvis

^^I wanted to bring Lance some hotsauce so bad, but I couldn't carry any on the plane:[

^^We stood outside this bar for a lot of the night. One of the girls wasn't 21 so we couldn't quite get the full experience, but dancing and singing along was still a blast. I was so shocked at how talented everyone was. At first I wanted to go in and do my go to 'hit me baby one more time', but I soon realized I probably would have been boo'd off the stage.

So glad I can finally say that I've been to "the south". Also, southern hospitality is real. very real. I've never interacted with so many polite people consecutively. Love you Nashville!
